About Garhwal Region :
Garhwal is a part of Uttarakhand State of India. It is a region comprises with 7 districts Chamoli , Pauri Garhwal , Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi , Dehradun , Haridwar , Rudraprayag.
Dehradun :
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand which is located in Garhwal region. It is nested between river Ganga on east and river Yamuna on west.
Haridwar :
Haridwar is a city of State Uttarakhand. Known as an important Hindu religious pilgrimage site . It is a place where River Ganges exists the Himalayan foothills. There are many places to visit in Haridwar and Har ki Pauri is one of them.
Chamoli :
Chamoli town is the headquarters of the district of the same name and is said to be amongst the most blessed places, adorned with beautiful landscape and heart melting sights. Adding to its sanctity, Chamoli in its district embraces many important Hindu pilgrimage sites like Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, Joshimath and the three of the Panch Prayags; Karnaprayag, Nandprayag, and Vishnuprayag, that come as points of interest for the devotees on their pilgrimage tour.
Pauri Garhwal :
the district of Pauri Garhwal varies from the foothills of the Tarai of Kotdwar to the soul-lifting meadows of Dhanaulti, sprawling at an altitude of 3,000 m, which remains snowbound during the winter months.
Uttarkashi :
Uttarkashi town, the headquarters of the district by the same name, is more on the pilgrimage circuit than the regular tourist circuit. Nevertheless, with trekking and mountaineering gaining popularity as adventure sports, the importance of this region cannot be discounted. The region has some high-altitude lakes and the Gangotri and Yamunotri glaciers lead on to several major peaks-the hunting grounds for serious mountaineering buffs.
